2025 has well and truly arrived and with the scale of disruption both politically and economically, things are changing, and fast! The shape of your business may be changing as well - some examples below: -         Changes to channels, such as you may have started as wholesale and moved into online or bricks and mortar retail, or any combination of multi-channel processes -         Systems geared for one type of business channel/model and not fit for what it is today -         The size and shape of the business has changed and systems are not configured to cope -         You need to move into new markets or operating models -         International trading is becoming an imperative There are many more, some are new (AI) but mostly we’ve seen them all before. We can help with a review of your systems and processes and deliver valuable insights. Not only that, but we can also assist you in delivering on those insights, in a multitude of ways. We can backfill roles, supply skills and resources and help you deal with current or new suppliers of services. Your resources are possibly stretched already and desired skills either not available due to BAU focus or don’t exist internally – we can assist in covering any short-term bandwidth issues. For a no-obligation chat, feel free to reach out to me here: +44 7885 274 127 or via LinkedIn

  • Always happy to discuss any requirements within your supply chain and how we can assist with any bandwidth issues you may have.

  • A seminal moment in the history of the internet. The glue that holds so many things together!

Even computer science nerds have fanboy moments - it's not everyday you have three Turing award winners in the same room! vint cerf, Alan Kay and Tim Berners-Lee were in attendance yesterday at the 50th anniversary event held jointly by The Royal Society and ACM. The three panels were top drawer, it was great to reflect on the journey of the internet and what has been done with it. And of course views into the next 50 years. Thanks for the opportunity to chat Maarten Botterman, I hope your journey home to the Netherlands was uneventful! Ruben Alonso and Mark Tailford, sorry you guys couldn't make it, it was really great!

  • Getting back to my roots… Yesterday was a personal day, no sales, just getting back to my roots. It was great to meet people and see how the CIO role has matured. Mention networking 20 years ago and the discussion would have centred around the merits of D-Link vs SMC, or Cisco – things have moved since then! There was a lot of technical talk particularly around AI. Really interesting to see the work that IBM is doing with WatsonX, in the Copilot/Gemini space. Here’s a shout out to Henry Oakes and his team Pathfinder, wishing you every success in your endeavours. There was also a lot about leadership, EQ, empowering people and delivering value. There were some really impressive speakers, my favourite being Dax Grant. If you get the opportunity to hear her speak, make the time! The location, Merchant Taylors' Hall was superb as was the food and drinks/snacks. Finally, thanks to CIO WaterCooler for the invite, it was a great day. I feel re-charged. Regards John Romeis
